APIDAE

Apidae bees, more commonly know as Carpenter Bees, Carpenter bees are between 3/4 and 1 inch long.

Carpenter Bees receive their name due to their habit of digging into wood to make their nests

While Carpenter bees look similar to Bumble Bees, they are a solitary insect, they do not form colonies like Bumble Bees & Honey Bees do, the female builds the nest, lays her eggs then dies, the young bees dont emerge until early spring.
